Health and Safety Guidelines for Lessons under Alert Level 2
What you can do:
No parents and caregivers in the classroom If parents and caregivers come into the classroom, we need to treat the lesson as a gathering and limit the number of people to no more than 10, in addition to students and music tutors. To keep everyone safe, we ask all parents to wait outside, following the social distancing rule of two metres or wait in their car. We will let you know if the maximum number of people change over the period of Alert Level 2 and if we can accommodate parents in the classroom. Scanning COVID-19 QR code for contact tracing The COVID -19 QR code poster will be displayed at the door of each space for parents to scan. We require all parents entering the school ground to do this for contact tracing purposes. Please download NZ COVID Tracer from your app store. Staying at home if feeling unwell As per Ministry of Health guidelines, any person who is feeling unwell, must not be on the school site. This includes if your child has:
Maintain high levels of hygiene We strongly encourage all students to wash their hands before and after class. We will have some hand sanitiser available for students to use. Pencils will not be shared so please bring your own. |

What our tutors will do
Contact tracing in case of a COVID-19 infection
Tutors will continue to keep a record of attendance for contact tracing purposes. They will also keep a record of any parents entering the classroom.
Maintaining high levels of hygiene
All teaching spaces will have a disinfectant spray and paper towels available. Shared instruments such as keyboards will be cleaned using disinfectant spray after each class.
Appropriate physical distancing
Students and tutors will maintain a 1 metre distance during music lessons. We will set up the chairs and music stands to allow this.
